ONE GOD, THE MIGHTY GOD IN CHRIST-(KJV)

A. How Many Gods Exist?

 Exodus 20:3. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. 

 Deuteronomy 4:35. Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the LORD he is God; there is none else beside him. 

 Deuteronomy 4:39. Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the LORD he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.

Deuteronomy 6:4.  Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: 

Deuteronomy 32:39.  See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand. 

Psalm 86:10.  For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone.

Isaiah 42:8.  I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. 

Isaiah 43:10.  Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. {no...: or, nothing formed of God}

11. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. 

Isaiah 44:6. Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. 

Isaiah 44:8.  Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any. {God; I: Heb. rock, etc} 

Isaiah 44:24.  Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself; 

Isaiah 45:5.  I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:

6. That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else. 

Isaiah 45:18.  For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else. 

Isaiah 45:21.  Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.

22. Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. 

Isaiah 46:5.  To whom will ye liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like? 

Isaiah 46:9.  Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, 

Jeremiah 16:20.  Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no gods? 

Malachi 2:10aHave we not all one father? hath not one God created us? 

Mark 12:29.  And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 

1 Corinthians 8:4.  As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.

5. For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)

6. But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. {in: or, for}

Ephesians 4:5.  One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

6. One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Philippians 3:20.  For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: {conversation...: or, we live or conduct ourselves as citizens of heaven, or, for obtaining heaven} 

Colossians 1:16.   For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 

1 Timothy 2:5.  For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 

James 2:19.  Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 

1 John 5:7.  For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 

Revelation 1:8.  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. 

Revelation 1:11a.  Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: 

B. GOD IS A SPIRIT

John 4:24.  God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. 

Luke 24:39.  Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have

John 14:26.  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you

1 Kings 8:27.  But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded? 

Acts 17:24.  God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

25. Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; 

2 Corinthians 3:17.  Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 

1 Timothy 1:17.  Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen. 

C. THE MIGHTY GOD WAS MANIFEST IN THE FLESH.                                                             JESUS IS BOTH GOD AND MAN:

Isaiah 9:6.  For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 

 Matthew 1:18.  Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

19. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.

20.  But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. {conceived: Gr. begotten}

21. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. {JESUS: that is, Saviour, Heb}

22. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

23. Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. {they...: or, his name shall be called} 

John 1:1.  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 

14.  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. 

18.  No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. 

John 8:40.  But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham. 

John 8:57.  Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?

58. Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

John 10:30.   I and my Father are one. 

John 14:8.   Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.

9. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

10. Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works

Romans 5:14.  Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. 

2 Corinthians 4:4.  In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 

2 Corinthians 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. {committed...: Gr. put in us} 

Philippians 2:7.  But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

8. And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. {fashion: or habit} 

Colossians 1:15.   Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 

Colossians 1:19.  For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

Colossians 2:9.  For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 

1 Timothy 2:5.  For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 

Titus 2:13.  Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; {glorious...: Gr. the appearance of the glory of the great God, and of our Saviour Jesus Christ} 

Hebrews 1:3.  Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; 

Hebrews 2:16.  For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. {took not...: Gr. taketh not hold of angels, but of the seed of Abraham he taketh hold} 

Revelation 1:8.  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. 

D. JESUS IS THE ONE PERSON OF THE GODHEAD.

ALL THE FULLNESS OF THE GODHEAD DWELLS IN JESUS CHRIST.

Matthew 1:23.  Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. {they...: or, his name shall be called} 

John 1:1.  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

1 Timothy 3:16.  And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

E. JESUS IS THE NAME OF THE FATHER, SON, AND HOLY GHOST

Zechariah 14:9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one. 

Matthew 1:21  And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. {JESUS: that is, Savior, Heb}

Matthew 28:19.   Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: {teach...: or, make disciples, or, Christians of all nations} 

John 5:43.   I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. 

John 14:17.  Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you

John 15:26.  But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: 

Acts 2:38.   Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 

Acts 4:12.   Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. 

Acts 7:59.   And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. 

Acts 9:5.   And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. 

Colossians 1:27.   To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: {in: or, among} 

Hebrews 1:4.   Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. 

Hebrews 2:12.   Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.
